Questions or Feedback

This is a work in progress which I hope to complete in 2026, but who knows. I'm adding pages when I have time for that. If you have questions, please do reach out by email !

About the author

My name is Alexander Fenster. I got some music education–5 years of piano and “fixed do” solfège–when I was at school, and I keep playing music, piano and accordion, since then, for more than 30 years; playing just for myself, never professionally.

You can find me on LinkedIn or GitHub, but email is still the best way to contact.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

You can also check my other music related project: an app which, finally, lets you play melodies with chords on your phone, just like on an accordion. iOS, Android, browser version: Piano Chords: Keys + Accordion

Privacy policy

Please read the Privacy policy if you have questions about how your data is used on this website. TL;DR: it's only used for analytics.

Support Chords.Now

While this is work in progress, this website is free to use, but I do pay for hosting.

If you enjoyed the course or learned something new, you can support the course development by buying me a coffee. Thank you!

I will also appreciate it if you mention this website in your blog or social media. Thank you!

Technical details

I'm using two JavaScript libraries, abcjs and piano-chart, for displaying the playable music widgets, and want to thank their authors: Paul Rosen and Gregory Dyke, and Alan Mendelevich. Chord buttons and everything else on this website, including the texts and the simple scores, I made myself. I'm doing my best to only use music in the public domain for my examples, but if you think I made a mistake and used a copyrighted music instead, please let me know! The website is self-hosted using decloud and uses Node.js, TypeScript, and a local sqlite database for storing the content. It's managed by small CMS I made for myself; I'm also using it on my other projects: a C programming language course, and a website about my approach to low-carb diet.
